John Herman

John grew up in the Philippines as a missionary kid, developing a heart for ministry from an early age. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Youth Ministry from Toccoa Falls College and has a deep passion for investing in the next generation. He spent about eight years in youth ministry before stepping away from full-time ministry. During that time, he worked for seven years with a nonprofit that ministers to young men, where he gained valuable management skills. In 2023, with Pastor Roy’s help, John sensed God calling him back to full-time ministry and is now honored to serve as the youth pastor.

An adopted mountaineer, John loves West Virginia and enjoys spending time outdoors—whether it’s hiking, bird watching, or simply taking in God’s creation. He’s also a coffee and sparkling water enthusiast. John is blessed with his wonderful wife, Emily, and four amazing children—Liam, Kinley, Nora, and Isaac—as well as their standard poodle, Charlie. His favorite scripture is Matthew 6:33: “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
