Our desire is that each Sunday, your child will encounter Jesus through the study of God’s Word and through the lives of loving teachers. In both Sunday School and Kids Worship, we rely on a special curriculum called The Gospel Project. The Gospel Project is a weekly Bible study that helps all ages dive deep into the big story of the Bible—God’s plan to rescue His people through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Each Sunday, head right to one of our convenient check-in stations, located near the carport entrance, at the nursery, or in the kids area downstairs.. There you can register your child for the morning’s activities before you drop them off for Sunday School or head to the worship service.
The safety of your little ones is serious business to us. Each one of our CMA Kids workers has undergone a screening and background check, so you can have confidence in our team each week.
Once you check in your infant, toddler, or Pre-K child,
they will stay put for the remainder of the morning.
Parents can go straight from Sunday School to the Worship Service
and pick up your little ones at the end of the service.
Be sure to check-in your young ones before heading off to worship.
You’ll pick up your child right where you dropped them off.
Heidi Amsler
Director of Children’s Ministries
Heidi has a passion for everything and all things kids! Since the time she was little, she has known she should be a teacher.
She followed God’s leading in her life and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from a wonderful Christian College in Indiana: Grace College. She also worked hard to obtain a master’s degree in Education from Marygrove College in Detroit. Heidi has taught in the public schools for a total of 13 years.
While living in Chicagoland, Heidi took a break from teaching and felt God calling her to work at a church. There, Heidi was able to use her talents in a new setting and found so much joy in teaching children stories from the Bible and how much God loves them. Heidi served at Calvary Memorial Church in Oak Park for eight years, initially as the Associate and later as the Director of Children’s Ministry.
Heidi has a desire to see our youngest ones grow in the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ our Lord. She finds it a joy to partner with parents as they rear strong children in the fear of the Lord. Heidi married her husband, Clayton, in 2005 and they have three beautiful girls – Hannah, Megyn and Kate. Heidi loves to mentor young women, is a voracious novel reader, and scrapbooks when she has time.
